About Me

Aloha, my name is Relle and welcome to my little home on the internet where I like to share all my favorite Hawaiian recipes (and local ones too).

I am a wife, mom of two, and nurse practitioner here in the beautiful state of Hawai’i. I was born and raised in Hawai’i and I am of native Hawaiian descent. In my spare time I love to cook and bake and I have compiled many of my favorite recipes here for you to enjoy.

Hawai’i is the ultimate melting pot of the world and what better way to bring this mixed plate of people together than with the love of food. Everything from Hawaiian, Japanese, Chinese, Portuguese, Filipino, and more.

I am a self taught, home cook. These recipes are meant to be easy to follow so that anyone can share the ‘ono (delicious) foods of Hawai’i with family and friends.

My love for baking began at a young age as I would help my mother in the kitchen. I would measure, mix, sneak a taste (shh don’t tell), and anything else she’d let me do. She loved to bake all kinds of sweets. I admit I had, who am I kidding I still have a sweet tooth.

Aside from having a sweet tooth, I was quite the picky eater. For the longest time I despised veggies, however as I grew older I knew I needed to broaden my horizons and try different foods. So I began trying all kinds of different recipes in search of different foods that I liked.

Before having children I told myself I’d try my best not to let my children be picky eaters like me. If I could expose them to as many things as I could they may find some things that they like.

Fast forward to today. I now am married with two beautiful children. I continue on with my goal of raising adventurous eaters. I have made many different recipes in the kitchen and am working on compiling as many as I can to share with you.
